Product Description
Look at the exclusivity and details that are clearly seen in this Mammoth tusk carving tusk of three gragons Holding the a Pearl Ball.
Notice the clear cuts, chiseled indents and the beautiful curves as each dragon is intermingled with the other but manages to retain its look and expression.
See the fine detailing done on the dragon’s face, teeth, nostrils and the scales.
Each scale is individually crafted and brings to life the dynamic flow of the sculpture.
Though completely mythical, dragons play an important role in the Chinese and Japanese folklore.
Look at the concentric circles resembling the see waves at the end of the tusk.
Notice the raw edges that are broken, brown but the artist has carved into the tusk, bringing out the milky whiteness layer by layer and in the process created an amazing sculpture.
The discoloration is seen as streaks of brown pigmentation due to the organic wooly Mammoth tusk absorbing the soil minerals as it lay buried for centuries in the Arctic permafrost.
However, it lends authenticity and gives a beautiful shade to the sculpture.
